Jaffna Public Library The reconstructed library, today stands as a memory of the 30-year conflict when the original building was burnt down, setting ablaze more than 90,000 volumes of books.

 

Jaffna Fort Built in 1680, this was among the grandest forts built by the Dutch in Asia. During the three-decade long civil war, it had been used as an encampment by the government and the LTTE troops at different times.
